Bladder and Bowel Issues in MS

During this teleconference: 

  • Participants will be aware of normal bowel and bladder function without MS.
  • Participants will learn what dysfunction can occur related to MS.
  • Participants will be able to explore these issues with their health care provider for solutions that will lessen the impact on their overall quality of life.

Pat Kennedy has been working in the field of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) since 1987.  Initially she worked as a nurse practitioner in a large comprehensive MS center and now works for Can Do Multiple Sclerosis, formerly The Heuga Center in Edwards, Colorado, as a nurse educator for staff and community and Program Advisor for the organization.  She sits on the Client Education Committee of the National MS Society.  Pat is president of the Board of the International Organization of MS Nurses and is certified as a Multiple Sclerosis Nurse.  She has had the opportunity to speak about MS to people living with MS as well as to professional audiences internationally and contributes to many publications and books.  She is the editor of a new book written by a multidisciplinary team of professionals who work as staff for Can Do MS.  The book is entitled The Can Do Multiple Sclerosis Guide to Lifestyle Empowerment and describes managing MS in a multidisciplinary way for both patients as well as professionals.
